When walking into Seafront on Meyer estate, we felt that the estate was too green and mundane and that results in the disinterest of the residence in relevance to the environment. The landscape did not have any purpose beyond its visual aesthetic. We felt that this could be improved on.
From the discussions and meetups with Seafront on Meyer, we start to understand that keeping their community and environment thriving is their priority. To rejuvenate the place, we propose to add more colours to the estate. One of the locations was the rooftop as It provides the space for people to mingle and bond. Fixing the issue of it being too monotonous, we added bougainvillaea, a low maintenance flowering plant to make the atmosphere more colourful and vibrant. Bougainvillaea was considered and proposed as it flourishes beautifully under direct sunlight that the rooftop provides. This makes the place more enticing for residents to appreciate and enjoy.
Playing the idea of community involvement, we give the residents the opportunity to engage with one another through hands-on experience. This is possible by creating a community herb garden where residents can personally care for and grow the herb. The foundation of the herbs gardens was done up by our company when it was the most sensitive time for the herb. Informative plant signages were also done around the estate, regarding the different species of plants. Its purpose is to provide an interactive space where kids and residents can gain more knowledge about the variety of plants used.
After analyzing the needs and opportunities of the space, we created a tailored solution. Transforming the stagnant space into a lively ambience, while still keeping the cost of the project reasonable.
